The year 2014, was a landmark year for North Karnataka, since it is the establishment of the DSR Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences by Syed Azmath Ullah Educational & Charitable Trust, Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It was established by renowned personality with perfect vision, Dr. Syed Rahmat Ullah, Chairman, SAE & C Trust. who is unique in sharing the responsibility in overall development of institution.

About Principal
Dr. Santosh Gada, Principal at DSR Institute, boasts a distinguished career marked by academic excellence and industry experience. With a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, and 15 years of teaching expertise, he brings invaluable insight to pharmaceutical education. His tenure as a marketing executive further enriches his leadership, ensuring a holistic approach to shaping future pharmacists.

Departments
Department of Pharmaceutics
Pharmaceutics is the study of relationships between drug formulation, delivery, disposition and clinical response. Research in the Pharmaceutics Department encompasses basic, applied, and clinical investigations in (i) pharmacokinetics/ biopharmaceutics, (ii) Industrial Pharmacy (iii) drug delivery and Regulatory affairs (iv) herbal medicine.
Department of Pharma Chemistry
The Pharmaceutical Chemistry, emphasizes training in the basic and applied chemistry and analysis subjects. Students learn to apply fundamental concepts in these areas to many specialized areas of research in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Department of Pharmacology
Pharmacology is a separate discipline in the health sciences. It is the science of how drugs acts on biological systems and how the body responds to the drugs. Pharmacology has provided the means to validate, optimized and advance new chemical entities to human testing.
Department of Pharmacognosy
Department of pharmacognosy is involved in research in the field of discovery and development of herbal drugs, phytopharmaceuticals and microbial products; quality control and analysis.
